Volunteer-Led Camps & Cabins
Meet life-long friends and enjoy the splendor of AMC's destinations at one of our volunteer-led camps and cabins! Our seasonal, full-service camps are run by seasonal summer staff and all offer private cabins, or fixed tent accommodations and three delicious meals a day. A variety of roadside and backcountry cabin rentals and backcountry campsites are also available. Western US
August Camp
Located in a different location each summer, August Camp offers daily excursions, tent camping, and group meals. Recent sites have included: Canadian Rockies, Central Cascades in Oregon, the Olympic Peninsula; the High Sierra in California; the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Rainier in Washington.
Connecticut & New York
Connecticut and New York offer recreation opportunities from sea to summit. Whether you’re looking for a beachside getaway to New York’s south coast or for a jumping-off point for a variety of hikes along the AT and around Connecticut’s Bear Mountain, you’ll find it at one of these camps.
Fire Island Cabin
Enjoy beautiful Atlantic Ocean beaches, explore the area by canoe or kayak, and sail along the Great South Bay near Long Island in New York.
Northwest Camp
Northwest Camp is a rustic backcountry cabin, secluded on a remote section of Bear Mountain in Salisbury, Connecticut. The cabin provides access to many hiking trails leading to New York and Massachusetts.
Maine
Whether you’re looking for an adventure or just want to relax by the water, AMC’s Volunteer-led Camps and Cabins in Maine are the perfect base. Enjoy the scenery of mid-coast Maine from a sea kayak, or head over to Acadia National Park for hiking, biking, paddling, or to catch a sunrise atop Cadillac Mountain.
Beal Island Campground
Enjoy wilderness camping on AMC’s only coastal island destination, located on the tidal Sasanoa River. Wake up to the call of ospreys and watch the tides as they move through Lower Hell Gate channel.
Echo Lake Camp
This lakefront camp located in Mount Desert, Maine is an exceptional vacation spot amid the spectacular scenery of Acadia National Park. Come explore the dramatic vistas and all of the unbeatable hiking experiences that Acadia has to offer.
Knubble Bay
Look out the window and see seals playing in the bay, or sit on the porch and listen to the osprey. You won’t need to leave this beautiful waterfront property to enjoy Mid-Coast Maine.
Massachusetts
Escape the bustle of the city and find a cabins act as a gateway to some of the best hikes, paddling adventures, and relaxing retreats the area has to offer.
Ponkapoag Camp
Located in the Blue Hills, Ponkapoag Family Camp provides comfortable cabins for visitors at one of the largest forest areas and best hiking locations in eastern Massachusetts.
New Hampshire

Cold River Camp
