Your gift supports the critical work of dedicated crews who repair, reconstruct, and build trails that protect the lands that surround them
Support our Trails
Your gift ensures that trail crews will continue work on two multi-year projects in the White Mountains:
-
Restoring the Old Bridle Path and upper Greenleaf Trail sections of the iconic Franconia Ridge Loop, which sees 40,000+ hikers each year. This will fix decades of vegetation damage and erosion from high use and the effects of climate change.
- Relocating the lower portion of the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail farther away from the Ammonoosuc River. Due to more frequent and severe storms, high volumes of water undermined or eroded much of the trail. The new trail is designed to prevent erosion and require less maintenance.
Your donation will also tackle projects. For example:
-
You’ll finish the two-year Noble View All Persons Trail project in Russell, MA – expanding access to the outdoors for those who use wheelchairs, strollers, or other mobility devices.
-
You’ll rehabilitate the Henderson Brook Trail in Maine, which was washed out during a major storm this past December. The trail connects Gorman-Chairback Lodge to the Appalachian Trail.
-
You’ll tackle critical annual maintenance of over 350 miles of AMC-maintained trails in the White Mountains. You’ll blaze trails, clear blowdowns, and repair trail washouts.
Whether you choose to make a one-time gift, become a monthly sustainer, or pick an initiative that resonates with you, your tax-deductible gift will further the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the outdoors.
