Conservation
At AMC, we support science-based solutions to environmental threats. Our conservation team produces high-quality scientific information and analyses in support of AMC’s mission. We work on climate change, air and water quality, forests, and mountain ecosystems in collaboration with some of the region’s most highly regarded universities and agency partners. This research informs our work and advocacy with policymakers in Washington, D.C., and in states across the region, as we forge practical, nonpartisan solutions to protect the outdoors.
Priorities
Our goal of protecting our natural resources and outdoor experiences drives everything we do. Our overarching priorities include understanding and addressing climate change; protecting the land, air, and water of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic; and creating and caring for trails to facilitate responsible outdoor access for all.
Approaches
Our three-pronged approach to environmental protection comprises research, advocacy, and on-the-ground conservation.
Driven by our scientific research, these intertwined approaches enable AMC to achieve its conservation goals.
