Support the Outdoor Journey Fund
Your gift gets us one step closer to making the outdoors accessible for all.
The Outdoor Journey Fund is dedicated to breaking down the financial barriers that prevent underrepresented communities from experiencing the outdoors. With your help, we can provide life-changing adventures that foster connection, confidence, and a love for nature—at little to no cost.
Outdoor Journey Fund
Your support enables nonprofit groups from across the Northeast access transformative outdoor experiences tailored to their needs.
Whether it’s comfortable lodging, equipment rentals, or guided adventures, we work closely with each group to ensure that these experiences are meaningful and accessible. In 2023, the Outdoor Journey Fund sponsored 24 trips, impacting 424 individuals. Here are a few of their stories:
On Belay supports youth who have lost a family member to cancer with adventures. Each summer, they host a three-day trip at the Highland Center, featuring activities like paddling, swimming, hiking in Crawford Notch.
New England Ski For Light has organized adaptive outdoor programs since 1977. For the past two years, they’ve hosted the Winter Wonderland hiking trip for visually impaired adventurers at AMC’s Highland Center.
Unlikely Riders is focused on mobilizing the BIPOC community in Snowsports in Vermont and beyond. Last year, the Outdoor Journey Fund enabled their leaders to attend AMC's Wilderness First Aid training.
